ACCME Mission Statement
The DxTx Pain & Spine CME mission is to enhance patient care through evidence‑based clinical decision making and innovative pain management strategies. Our educational initiatives are designed to produce measurable improvements in clinician competence, performance in practice, and ultimately, superior patient outcomes. Specifically:
- Increased Competence: Clinicians participating in our CME activities gain an enhanced understanding of advanced interventional pain management techniques—including the latest evidence‑based methodologies and best practices such as those delineated in the 2019 HHS Best Practices in Pain Management, a framework to which Dr. John Prunskis was a key contributor. Our targeted educational modules fortified the ability to precisely diagnose and treat the source of pain while reducing opioid reliance.
- Improved Performance: Our program is structured around the rigorous analysis of practice performance indicators.
- Key metrics include:
- Opioid Prescribing Patterns: Monitoring EMR‑derived MME >90 reports have shown significant improvements.
- Interventional Procedure Utilization: Monitoring of interventional procedural blocks due to educational needs.
- Regular Feedback and Audit Processes: Monthly physician/APP education meetings, clinician feedback sessions, and documentation audits ensure that performance trends are continuously evaluated, leading to timely remedial training when benchmarks are not met.
- Key metrics include:
- Enhanced Patient Outcomes: By fostering improved clinical performance, the program contributes to better patient outcomes. Enhanced documentation audit scores, robust patient satisfaction surveys, and the successful reduction in high‑risk opioid prescribing collectively underscore our commitment to:
- Increasing patient safety and satisfaction across our regional markets.
- Sustaining improvements in pain management practices among over 50 clinicians serving 1 million patients—with more than 16,000 new patients annually.
